This will be her second press conference after the Awami League-led alliance assumed office for the second time in a row.

Her Press Secretary Maruf Kamal Khan said the briefing would be held at the ballroom of the Westin hotel in Dhaka at 4pm.

Party leaders say the former Prime Minister would talk about the current political situation of Bangladesh and the ‘alleged enforced disappearances and cross-fire killings’.

She had addressed the media on Jan 15, three days after the new government was sworn in.

Khaleda had said she would continue the agitation for a non-party government to supervise national polls, but one that would be peaceful. She also urged the government to take initiative to hold a dialogue with the opposition.

BNP and ruling Awami League had either been in power or been the leading Opposition group since the fall of military dictator HM Ershad.
