The BNP chief said she was confident the deprived and the repressed people of this country would soon regain their “lost” voting rights  and she would never repeat the “undemocratic actions of the Awami League.” She came up with the framework which says national unity and an indivisible national identity will be built in Bangladesh with the combined and united efforts of Muslims, Hindus, Christians, Buddhists, people of the hills and the plains and the fortunate and the less fortunate.

“Unadulterated democracy” will be the means of governance and a permanent arrangement will be put in place to ensure peaceful transfer of power through free, fair, neutral, credible and participatory election.

The framework also says terrorism, violence and communalism will be dealt with a firm hand. Corruption, politicisation and nepotism will be removed completely.

It adds “electoral reforms” will be instituted and the political opposition will be treated with “proper and due respect.”

Her framework vows to put an end to the politics of violence and intolerance. It also says mutual respect and logic will determine behaviour among political adversaries.

It also suggests Appropriate structures will be created to provide opportunity to all sections of the society to contribute their talent to nation building. Relations and cooperation with all countries, particularly the neighbouring countries will be strengthened. Initiatives will be taken to ensure national and regional peace, security and stability.

It aims to ensure independence of the judiciary and the media and  good governance and the rule of law  and civil and police administration free from party and political patronage and a strengthened local government.

She pledged to institute planned and vocational education, prioritise women’s education, women’s rights and women empowerment. strengthen microfinance mechanisms, ensure the independence of Grameen Bank and restore the position of the country’s only Nobel Laureate Muhammad Yunus “with due respect,”  provide a secure future for the nation’s youth to eradicate poverty and unemployment and create a creative society.

The framework concludes saying “Our detailed plans and programme on the economy, socio-economic development, on industry, trade and commerce, optimum utilisation of our energy and mineral resources, on enhancing professionalism of our defense forces and on culture will be elaborated in the party’s election manifesto at the appropriate time.”
