Khaleda goes to Saudi Arabia Saturday

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia goes to Saudi Arabia on Saturday to perform Umrah at the invitation of the Saudi government.

She is scheduled to fly from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in a flight of Emirates Airlines around 7:10pm.

Khaleda, also the leader of the opposition in parliament, will perform Umrah as a royal guest of the Saudi government as every year, BNP chairperson’s press secretary Maruf Kamal Khan Sohel told UNB.

Her younger brother Shamim Iskander, his wife Kaniz Fatema, BNP vice chairman Shamsher Mobin Chowdhury, private secretary ASM Saleh Ahmed and photographer Nuruddin Ahmed will accompany the opposition leader during her visit.

Khaleda goes to Saudi Arabia every Ramadan for the last few years to perform Umrah and pass the last days of the holy moth there in special prayers.

She is expected to return home on August 7.
