BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has asked leaders and supporters of the BNP-led 20-party alliance to form action committee at each and every locality to resist state-sponsored terrorism.

BNP joint secretary general Salahuddin Ahmed conveyed Khaleda Zia’s order through a public statement on Monday.

The BNP leader urged all concerned to constitute the action committee at every level under the leadership of the 20-party alliance.

In the statement Salahuddin Ahmed alleged that the Awami League had arranged the farcical one-party election aiming at implementing a blue print of establishing a one-party parliament, one-party administration, and one-party judiciary.

“All organs of the state have been visibly brought under the diktats of the executive. There is no distinct entity of the executive, the legislature and the judiciary, let alone checks and balance between them. As a result, the country and the nation have fallen victim of state anarchism,” the statement read.

The BNP leader said independence and sovereignty of a state are at stake when the democratic character of the republic is hampered.

“So the country and the nation must be freed from the peril by united resistance of all who love freedom and democracy,” he said.

The BNP leader reiterated that the ongoing movement is not meant for bringing anyone to power rather “it’s a movement to carry out one’s responsibility to serve the future generations”.
