A Tangail court has ordered attachment of assets of 10 people, including Awami League MP from Tangail-3Amanur Rahman Khan Ranaand his three brothers, in the freedom fighter Faruk Ahmed murder case.
Senior judicial magistrate Golam Kibria passed the order on Monday following a petition filed by officer-in-charge of Detective Branch (DB) of police Mahfizur Rahman, also investigation officer of the case, reports UNB.
Meanwhile, the order reached the Tangail Model police station on Tuesday, said court police inspector Anwar Hosain.
Earlier on 6 April, a court issued a warrant for the arrest of the 10 accused in the Awami League leader Faruk murder case after accepting the charge sheet submitted on 3 February last by Inspector Golam Mahfizur Rahman.
The charge sheet named 14 accused with four of them now behind the bars and 10 on the run.
The absconding accused include MP Amanur Rahman Rana, his brothers Sahidur Rahman Khan Mukti, former mayor of Tangail municipality, Jahidur Rahman Khan Kakon, a business leader of Tangail, and Saniyat Khan Bappa, former vice president of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL).
Among the arrestees, Aminul Islam Raja and Mohammad Ali made their confessional statements to law enforcers.
Faruk Ahmed, an AL senior leader and a freedom fighter, was shot dead in the district town on 18 January 2013.
