A Police Headquarters spokesperson told bdnews24.com on Wednesday that police were watching over the social networking sites.
“If someone uploads or shares the video, gives Like for it, or comment in its favour on the social media, the person will face charges under the ICT Act,” Deputy Inspector General AKM Shahidur Rahman said.
The video begins with Islamic State propaganda messages, with captions in Bangla, and boasts of death tolls from numerous terror attacks claimed by IS.
“It was a glimpse…will repeat,” tweeted Rita Katz, director of SITE Intelligence Group, quoting the Bangla-speaking men from the video. One had his face covered, while two others were bearded.
SITE had reported that IS claimed responsibility for the July 1 terror attack on a Dhaka cafe and said 20 were killed within a few hours after Bangladesh’s first-ever hostage crisis emerged.
It also published ‘IS-released’ photos of five gunmen.
