Primarily, the relatives of the baby wrongly recognised another woman who had earlier been publicised by media, says DMCH director
The woman, who had stolen the new born baby, has been identified, the DMCH authority said.
Brigadier Mostafizur Rahman, the director of DMCH, told journalists that the authorities will provide information to the law enforcing agencies regarding the matter.
He hoped that it would be possible to arrest the woman.
Primarily, the relatives of the baby wrongly recognised another woman who had earlier been publicised by media, he also said.
However, the main suspect has been recognised after further consultation with the baby’s mother, father and grandmother using CCTV footage that was available.
The director of DMCH also said the mobile number of the suspect, who had provided information to the Ansar members while entering the hospital, was also given to the police.
When a phone call using the number was made, the receiver said the number is used in the areas of Tongi, Gazipur.
However, when the phone call was made again, it was found disconnected.
The law enforcers have been trying to track down the user of the phone number.
