Bangladesh Medical Research Council (BMRC) has set some conditions to run human trial of the Bangavax Covid-19 vaccine developed by the local company, Globe Biotech Limited, along with two other vaccines developed by India and China.
The BMRC said as per its rules, all types of conditions have to be met before the human trial. An expert meeting of BMRC made the decision on Wednesday.
According to BMRC sources, all documents related to the effectiveness and side-effects of the vaccines applied on chimpanzee and monkey will have to be submitted to the BMRC.
Discussions have been going on over the trial run of Covid-19 vaccine in Bangladesh for long. But the delay in BMRC’s decision caused frustration among a group of scientists.
