Jatiya Party Chairman HM Ershad on Thursday expressed doubt over the implementation of the biggest-ever budget unveiled by the Finance Minister.
“We call a budget successful one which is implementable. But there’s a doubt regarding this budget to what extent it will be possible to implement,” he said in his immediate reaction to the proposed budget for fiscal year 2014-2015.
The JP chief said it would be a big challenge for the government to implement the largest-ever budget in size.
He, however, said they are not criticising the budget for its larger size. “We won’t even term it an ambitious one. Without any ambition, progress doesn’t come.”
Ershad said the acceptability of the government is questioned by all quarters though it is in the right position in terms of legality.
“The government is probably trying to overcome the political deficit for the welfare of the people through this budget,” said the former general adding that how the government will overcome the political deficit keeping huge deficit in the budget.
He also said his party will come up with full reaction after evaluating the budget properly.
