
The BNP National Standing Committee, the party’s highest policymaking forum, will hold a meeting on 12 September night at the party chairman’s Gulshan political office in Dhaka.
Confirming the matter BNP Media Cell member Sayrul Kabir Khan told media that a meeting of the Standing Committee is scheduled for 12 September.
The committee last met on 1 August. This will be its third meeting since the BNP formed the government.
The meeting will be the first after the party added four new members to the National Standing Committee on 15 August.
The new members are Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, Amanullah Aman, Prof Dr Farhad Halim Doner and Ismail Zabihullah.
Party sources said the upcoming local government elections, the overall situation in the country and other issues are likely to be discussed at the meeting.
