BNP leaders Abbas, Salam, Mannan’s houses come under attack

 

Unidentified miscreants hurled crude bombs and opened fire at the houses of BNP standing committee member Mirza Abbas Dhaka city unit member secretary Abdus Salam on Monday night.

 

The attacks came amid the BNP-led 18-party’s non-stop 60-hour hartal enforced at 6am on Sunday to force the government to arrange the next polls under a non-party administration.

 

Witnesses said three youths riding a motorcycle threw a crude bomb at Abbas’ Shahjahanpur residence around 10pm.

 

The thugs also fired 8-9 gunshots targeting his house. However, there was no report of any casualty in the incident.

 

In another incident, 8-10 masked youths in four motorbikes stormed into the house of Salam’s Shantinagar house around 9pm.

 

They blasted two crude bombs in front of the house and fired five rounds of shots targeting the house, damaging its windowpanes.

 

However, no one was injured in the attack.

 

Meanwhile, miscreants threw five crude bombs at the house of Dhaka district unit BNP president Abdul Mannan around 11:20 pm.

 

Earlier, some unidentified miscreants exploded two crude bombs and fired three gunshots targeting Dhaka City Jubo League (south) president Ismail Hossain Samrat’s Shantinagar house.
