Bangladesh for the first time held a single-country trade fair in Amsterdam of the Netherlands. The Dutch-Bangla Chamber of Commerce and Industries (DBCCI) and the Bangladesh embassy in the Netherlands jointly organized the trade fair Dutch Bangla Expo 2016 on 28-29 September at the famous RAI convention Centre. The exposition showcased business and investment opportunity in Bangladesh for Dutch investors, business delegates and others.
Finance minister Abul Mal Abdul Muhith inaugurated the expo on 28 September Wednesday. Also present at the opening ceremony were president of DBCCI Anwar Shawkat Afser, the Bangladesh ambassador Sheikh Mohammed Belalas well as government delegates of the Netherlands.
Readymade garments, leather, jute, ship-building, water resources, agro products, real estate, ICT and other sectors conducive for investment in Bangladesh showcased their products and services at the fair. A trade and investment seminar was also held, highlighting the business possibility and opportunity in Bangladesh.
