US Ambassador in Dhaka Dan W Mozena on Tuesday said he is confident that major political parties in Bangladesh will find a way out of the ongoing crisis to hold a free and credible election.
“Major parties must engage in political dialogue and I am very confident that the leaders and major parties will do it at the end to hold the elections the country deserves,” the US envoy said.
Speaking at a luncheon meeting organised by the American Chamber of Commerce in Bangladesh at Ruposhi Bangla Hotel, he said Bangladesh has no need for outsiders to play that role as there is no shortage of ideas.
Mozena unlike other countries’ diplomats visit different towns outside Dhaka frequently. He has completed his two years of ambassadorship in Bangladesh today.
Aftab ul Islam, president of American Chamber of Commerce, chaired the meeting attended by politicians, jurists and top businessmen in the country.
