A total of 103 Bangladeshi human trafficking victims have been repatriated from Myanmar today.
The repatriation process was completed through a flag meeting between the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) and Myanmar Immigration and National Registration department around 10:30am.
The Bangladesh delegation, led by BGB Battalion-17’s acting commanding officer Maj Imran Ullah Sarkar, left through Ghumdum point in Bandarban around 10:00am, our Cox’s Bazar correspondent reports.
The Bangladeshis were handed over to police after bringing to Bangladesh territory. Later, they were taken to a temporary camp in Cox’s Bazar sadar, said Maj Imran Ullah Sarkar.
The Myanmar delegation was led by Saw Naing, deputy director of Myanmar Immigration and National Registration department, Imran added.
