A Dhaka court has ordered the police authority to search the BNP office in Gulshan following an explosives case.
Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate SM Masud Zaman passed the search warrant after the investigation officer (IO) of the case made a request to the court seeking a search warrant on Sunday afternoon.
The IO said the accused of the case might be hiding in the BNP office. So, it is necessary to search the office.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s lawyer Md Sanaullah Mia confirmed the search warrant to the Dhaka Tribune.
In February of this year, Md Jewel Rana, SI of the Gulshan police station, filed the case under the Explosive Act, accusing 14 people including BNP chief Khaleda Zia.
The blast incidents took place in a rally led by Shipping MInister Shahjahan Khan in Gulshan near the Khaleda’s office.
Khaleda Zia has been staying in the party office since January 3.
