Plainclothes police detained BNP standing committee member ASM Hannan Shah from the city’s Baridhara area on Monday night.
A team of Detective Branch of police picked up the BNP leader from the area around 8:50pm, said Masudur Rahman, deputy commissioner (public relations) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police.
Later, he was taken to the DB office at Minto Road.
