BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed on Saturday described the Ganojagaran Mancha as a ‘podium of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and Jubo League’.
“The Ganojagaran Mancha is not a podium of the young generation, but of Chhatra League and Jubo League,” he said while addressing a human chain programme in front of the National Press Club.
Dhaka district unit BNP organised the programme demanding the withdrawal of ‘false’ cases filed against its leaders and activists, including central joint secretary general Amanullah Aman, and their unconditional release.
Moudud, also former law minister, slammed the government for Monday’s police raid on BNP’s Nayapaltan central office, and said, “They (govt) once again proved that there’s no democracy in the country.”
Referring to the recent attacks on the religious minorities, he accused the government of unleashing such attacks to divert people’s attention from its various failures to different direction.
The BNP stalwart also blamed the government for letting loose police on religious people.
