Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Tuesday  claimed that the ‘roadmap’ unveiled by the Election Commission is meant to implement ‘blueprint’ of putting Awami League’s to power again.

The party termed conspiracy unveiling the’ roadmap’ before any settlement over the issue of BNP demand of election-conducive government.

It also found conspiracy in the remarks of the Chief Election Commissioner that the Election Commission would take steps  to ensure a level playing field after  announcement of election schedule.

BNP came up with remarks during giving its formal reaction to EC’ Action Plan for 11th parliamentary election announced by Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda on Sunday.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir flanked by the party’s senior leaders at a news conference at the party’s central office said BNP thinks that  the Election Commission unveiling the roadmap  defying people’s expectation has  started its journey  to implement blueprint of  putting Awami League in power through old technique.

He claimed that the nation was extremely ‘frustrated’ and aggrieved’.

Fakhul said the nation had expected that EC  would take effective step freeing from all fear and influence for implementing the demand of election-conducive government for ensuring participation of all political parties in election.

He said the CEC‘s remarks that neutral election is possible under the incumbent government has reflected the statements of the prime minister, ministers and the ruling party’s leaders.

But the reality is different, he said.

BNP standing committee member Khandoker Mosharraf Hossain said they found conspiracy in EC’s advancement with roadmap before reaching any understanding over election-time election-conducive government.

He said BNP also found conspiracy in the CEC’s statement that EC would take steps for ensuring a level playing field after announcement of election schedule.

Mosharraf claimed that election process started following announcement of election ‘roadmap’.

BNP standing committee members Moudud Ahmed, Mirza Abbas and Gayeshwar Chandra Roy  were present at the press conference.
