Forty-four Bangladeshis, who were stuck in West Bengal, returned home through Benapole on Monday under special arrangement.
They had been stranded in Kolkata since March 26 after the suspension of passenger crossing between the two countries.
Dr Habibur Rahman, health officer of Benapole check post, said the Bangladeshis entered the country between morning and afternoon.
“They will be quarantined at a community centre of Benapole municipality,” he said.
Meanwhile, residents of Benapole municipal area demonstrated after inauguration of the institutional quarantine at the community centre today by the district administration.
In the last four days, 185 people came back to the country.
