At least three people were killed at 20 injured as a bus and a truck collided head on at Kasem’s crossing in Kamarkhand of Sirajganj on Sunday evening.
Police a Bogra-bound bus of Dipjal Paribahan and a Dhaka-bound truck collided head on leaving three people including a child dead on the spot. Among the injured, conditions of five people is stated to be critical.
Rescuing the victims, police took them to Sirajganj General Hospital. The hospital’s resident medical officer Faridul Islam said the death toll was likely to increase.
Bangabandhu Bridge West police officer-in-charge Helal Uddin said rescue operations were on. Sirajganj deputy commissioner M Billal Hossain, superintendent of police M Miraj Uddin and civil surgeon Debprada Roy visited the injured passengers at hospital.
