Unclaimed, 32 laid to rest

The serenity of Jurain graveyard seems more than other days on Wednesday as 32 workers whose bodies remained unclaimed made their final journey.

The 32 victims of the deadly Savar building collapse remained unsung as nobody could own them.

They were stashed into three corpse-carrier owned by Anjuman Mufidul Islam, a charity organisation that provides free burial service, and taken for burial at the graveyard in the capital.

Two namaz-e-janaza was held before the dead were laid to rest.

The nine-storey Rana Plaza, housing five garment factories, a branch of Brac Bank and a shopping mall collapsed on April 24, trapping several thousand people inside it.

The tragedy death toll now stands 407.

So far, 2,437 people pulled out beneath the debris of the building.
