Selim scorns Khaleda for remarks against Gopalganj

Awami League MP Sheikh Fazlul Karim Selim on Tuesday blasted BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for her derogatory remarks against Gopalganj and asked her to apologise to the nation for that.

Taking floor in parliament on point of order, Selim said the BNP leader is repeatedly making derogatory remarks against Gopalganj, the home district of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.

“People will teach Khaleda a good lesson if she again makes any derogatory remarks against Gopalganj,” he said.

Khaleda Zia at a recent meeting said that the ‘Gopali has to be lifted with a crane’.

On December 29, while warning some on-duty police officers in front of her Gulshan house, Khaleda said, “Where’re you from, Gopalganj? The name of Gopalganj will not be there.”

Selim said the train of the government is moving rightly on its track, but Khaleda Zia skidded off the train. “Now she’s walking on the footpath,” he added.

In a further scathing attack, he said that Khaleda Zia needs immediate treatment as she has lost her mental balance. “She can receive treatment in Pakistan if she finds it not good enough in Bangladesh,” he said.
