Movement in due time, threatens Khaleda

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Saturday threatened to wage a movement against the government again at the appropriate time after reorganising her party.

“I don’t follow anybody’s dictate… we’ll wage our movement after reorganising our party,” she said.

Khaleda was addressing the 6th council of Dhaka city unit Sramik Dal at the Engineers’ Institute.

Renewing her party’s demand for a fresh national election, the BNP chief said there is still time to arrange an election immediately under a non-party caretaker government through talks.

“The consequences won’t be good the way you (govt) are carrying out repressive acts…one day you’ll be held responsible for your misdeeds,” she added.

Khaleda also urged her party leaders and activists to get ready for giving a befitting reply to the government’s repressive acts.

“It won’t be enough to shout slogans or clap only…you’ll have to work hard. Our party committees will be reorganised with those who will be able to play a courageous role in the anti-government movement and take to the streets taking risks,” she told her party men.
