Malaysia keen to take workers from BD under G2G process: Minister

 Malaysia is interested to take workers from Bangladesh under Government to Government plus (G2G plus) process, Expatriates Welfare and Oversees Employment Minister Nurul Islam Bsc said on Monday.

 “We have discussed about (G2G plus) process with a delegation of Malaysia. G2G plus means if the Bangladesh government wants it can involve Baira  (Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agency)in the recruiting   process,” he said.

He said this while talking to reporters after a meeting with a Malaysian delegation led by secretary general of Human Resource ministry of Malaysia Datuk Seri Haji Saripuddin Bin Hajj held at the ministry at Eskaton in the city.

The minister said Malaysia has so far taken manpower only in plantation sector under G2G process. From now on, they will recruit manpower in all sectors including engineering, health and teaching.

A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) over workers recruitment is expected to be signed with Malaysia on Tuesday, he added.

“We will be able to send workers under G2G plus process within one month of signing the MoU. And we will select workers from our database,” he added

About the migration cost, he said the range will be between TK 36000-37000 under G2G. If anyone wants to go through private organization, he/she will have to pay Tk 60000 for this purpose.
