Inu: No question of disbanding RAB

Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu said there was no question of dissolving the elite force as disbanding RAB at this moment was nothing but leaving the country in hand of the militants.

He said: “The police and RAB became successful to uproot the militancy in the country. If any RAB member is found guilty they will not be spared, but there is no question of dissolving the force at all.”

The minister made the remarks while attanding a programme in Mirpur Upazila in the district on Wednesday afternoon.

Criticising BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia for her demand of disbanding RAB, he said: “Tougher action will be taken if Khaleda Zia tries to initiate any movement against RAB.”

Terming her remarks as “irresponsible,” Inu said: “It was an irresponsible remark. Such remarks cannot be expected from someone who had been the prime minister. President Zia was killed by some military persons. She would ask for dissolving Army as some Army men killed her husband.”

Addressing Khaleda Zia, he said: “Do not make such irresponsible comment which is against the constitution, democracy and the law enforcing agencies.”

  1. If the RAB is abolished Awami League would not be able to survive with only the Student & Youth League remaining active to protect it..
