Members of Airport Armed Police (AAP) arrested a young man along with gold ornaments weighing 400 gram and electrical appliances at Hazrat Shajalal International Airport early Saturday.
The arrested was identified as Mizanur Rahman Ripon, 32. Further details about the arrested youth could not be known immediately.
Airport sources said the AAP members challenged Ripon, who came from Singapore, at the green channel at the airport around 12:15am.
Later, the law enforcers recovered the gold ornaments and electrical goods, including valuable cameras and mobile phone sets, after searching his luggage.
The market value of gold is above Tk 50 lakh, added the sources.
A case was filed with Airport Police Station in this connection.
