US Ambassador in Dhaka Marcia Stephens Bloom Bernicat on Monday expressed concern over the political activities in and around city’s Gulshan-Baridhara area which is known as a diplomatic zone.
BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s political office and many diplomatic missions apart from residents of the diplomats and staff are located in Gulshan-Baridhara area.
The area in recent days witnessed political processions, meetings and human chain programmes.
The US envoy conveyed their concern to State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam during their meeting at the Foreign Ministry, said a reliable source at the Ministry.
Meanwhile, the incident of hurling crude bomb targeting a vehicle of the US Embassy was also brought to the notice of the State Minister, the source added.
