A US court has summoned Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan in a case of human rights violation filed by a Sikh rights group, reported PTI.

The US district court in Los Angeles issued the summon on Monday on a complaint filed by New York-based Sikh for Justice (SFJ) and two alleged victims of the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.
The victims Babu Singh Dukhiya is based in Delhi and Mohender Singh is based in California.
According to the 35-page case statement, Amitabh allegedly instigated people for violence, saying “blood for blood” after the assassination of the then Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi.
However, the “Big B” has been denying allegations of any role in the anti-Sikh riots, and in 2011 had even written a letter to Akal Takht pointing out that his maternal grandparents were Sikhs.
In the past several years, the SFJ has unsuccessfully tried to drag several Indian leaders to US courts in the alleged human rights violations cases.
