Islamic State terrorists may attack targets in India, the US embassy in New Delhi has warned.
There was an “increased threat to places in India frequented by Westerners, such as religious sites, markets, and festival venues,” the embassy said in a notice on Wednesday.
The embassy asked US citizens to remain highly vigilant and increase security awareness in line with steps recommended by the State Department.
The notice which said Indian media reports indicate possibility of terror attacks is the first instance of the US issuing such a warning for the country, according to the VOA.
