The government has announced a Tk79.99 crore incentive for 6,90,970 farmers across the country on Sunday.

Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury made the announcement at a secretariat press briefing .
“The farmers will get MOP and DAP fertilizers and seeds to cultivate 11 kinds of Robi crops in a bid to increase the cultivation of these crops and to recoup the damage caused by natural disasters,” said the Minister.
The crops are wheat, maize, mustard, peanut, felon and kheshari pulses, BT brinjal, boro paddy, sesame, and both winter and summer moong pulses.
The government will provide 20 kgs of seeds, 20 kgs of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizer at a cost of Tk1,965 to farmers to cultivate wheat on one bigha of land, said Matia.
She added that cultivating maize on one bigha of land required two kgs of seeds, 20 kgs of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizer to be given to farmers at a cost of Tk1,302
“One kg of seeds, 20 kgs of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizer for Tk786 will be given to farmers for cultivating mustard on one bigha land.
“While 10 kgs of seeds, 10 kgs of DAP fertilizer, and 5 kgs of MOP fertilizer at a cost of Tk1,563 will be needed for cultivating peanut on one bigha of land,” she said.
The farmers will get one kg of sesame seeds, 20 kgs of DAP fertilizer, and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizer at a cost of Tk792, while they will get five kg seeds of pulse, 10 kgs of DAP, and 5 kgs of MOP fertilizers, at a cost of Tk935 per bigha of land.
The farmers will get five kg seeds of boro paddy, 20 kgs of DAP fertilizer and 10 kgs of MOP fertilizer, costing Tk1,002 for per bigha of land.
