Tigers draw lone warm-up match

Bangladesh bowlers got some overs under their belts as their lone two-day warm-up match against Cricket West Indies President’s XI ended in a draw at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua Friday.

After posting 403 runs in 84.2 overs in their first innings, Bangladesh took to the field Friday on the second and final day looking to put the finishing touch to their preparation, ahead of the first of two Test matches against the Caribbean side, starting Wednesday at North Sound.

Seamers Abu Jayed and Shafiul Islam bagged two wickets each as nine Bangladesh bowlers were used by Test captain Shakib al Hasan, including himself.

Pacers Rubel Hossain and Kamrul Islam Rabbi and spinners Mahmudullah and Mominul Haque picked up one wicket apiece.

At stumps on day two, CWI President’s XI registered 310 for the loss of eight wickets in 85 overs, Windies batsman Shimron Hetmyer top-scoring for his side with a 138-ball 123, featuring 19 fours and a six.

The second and final Test will be held from July 12-16 in Kingston.

The two teams will also face each other in three ODIs and as many T20Is.

The first two ODIs will be played at Providence on July 22 and 25 while the third and last ODI will take place at Basseterre on July 28.

The first T20I will also be held at Basseterre on July 31 while the second and third T20I will be played at Lauderhill on August 4 and 5.
