Three 50s propel Bangladesh to 314 for seven against South Africa

Shakib Al Hasan, Liton Das and Yasir Ali scored fifties as Bangladesh posted a big total of 314 for seven against South Africa in the first One Day International (ODI) match at SuperSport Park in Centurion on Friday.

Shakib played an aggressive 64-ball 77 while Lion and Yasir both scored 50 each.

Sent to bat first, Bangladesh openers started cautiously and put 95 runs on board in 21.3 overs. Captain Tamim Iqbal departed after scoring 41 off 67 balls. Liton also departed soon after scoring 50 from 67 balls.

Shakib and Yasir made 115-run fourth partnership to propel the innings of Tigers. Mahmudullah, Afif and Mehidy Miraz also chipped in with effective cameos to set South Africa 315 to win.
