State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal has claimed police are looking for the people the BNP says have been ‘abducted’.
These very people are accused of being involved in violent activities, he said on Thursday.
The BNP has been claiming that members of the 19-Party alliance are being abducted and killed by the government forces.
Its Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday said 56 people had fallen prey to covert killings in the past three months.
“You keep asking me about gunfights and abductions,” Kamal said at the Razarbagh Police Lines after inaugurating Police Week.
“Police are actually looking for the very people who people claim have been abducted,” he said.
“Because they are fugitive criminals on police’s list. We were able to identify them from the footages of violent events before the (general) election.”
