He said at a discussion on Friday: “An absconding corrupt person is making false and distasteful remarks one after another against Bangabandhu from abroad. Those (remarks) are not utterable.”

“Even BNP leaders and activists are affected by this absconding coward’s statements. BNP leaders and activists are embarrassed,” he added.

Tarique, elder son of BNP chief Khaleda Zia, said at a discussion in London on Nov 5 that Sheikh Mujib returned to Bangladesh with a Pakistani passport in 1972.

The senior vice chairman of BNP demanded his posthumous trial on charges of ‘sedition’.

Sheikh Mujib was the ‘killer of pro-liberation people’, said Tarique, while recounting the events from 1971 to 1975 in his own way.

“I have been sued for sedition as I had spelled out some truths based on historical facts. Why should there be sedition cases now and then for every other comment? Should there be a sedition case then it should be against Sheikh Mujib,” he had said.

Nasim, a member of the Awami League’s Presidium, said at the discussion organised on the occasion of the Jail Killing Day: “Unfortunately the trial of the jail killing cannot be completed due to BNP and Jamaat (-e-Islami) conspiracy.”

  1. Now it hurts when someone says against your own leaders. Al leaders unleash dirty words against the most revered freedom fighter of Bangladesh Ziaur Rahman. They have no regards and respect for the true freedom fighters who were instrumental in the independence of Bangladesh.
