Nancy is undergoing treatment at the MMCH and she is out of danger, doctor says
Popular singer Nazmun Monira Nancy has allegedly attempted suicide after taking excessive sleeping-inducing pills in her residence in Satpai area of Netrokona town on Saturday evening.
She was rushed to Netrokona Modern Hospital immediately, and later transferred to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital (MMCH) in a critical condition.
“Nancy’s husband Jahed Hossain and younger brother Saany along with neighbors took her to Netrokona Adhunik Sadar Hospital around 7pm,” Dr Nilothpol Talukder, residential medical officer of the hospital, told the Dhaka Tribune.
“We referred her to Mymensingh for better treatment as her condition deteriorated,” said the doctor.
Md Masudul Alam, officer-in-charge of Netrokona sadar police station, said: “Family feud and frustration might be the reason behind the incident.”
Nancy is undergoing treatment at Ward 27 and she is out of danger, Dr Zakir Hossain, emergency medical officer of the MMCH, told the Dhaka Tribune.
