Shamim Osman threatens ASP

Shamim Osman

Awami League lawmaker Shamim allegedly threatened an assistant superintendent of police over phone.

ASP Md Basir Uddin told the journalist that Shamim Osman threatened him during the Narayanganj-5 polls on Thursday noon. He filed a General Diary in this regard.

He told journalists that when Madanpur Union Parishad chairman Abdus Salam tried to cast fake votes, at Kewdala Government Primary School centre under Madanpur union of Bandar upazila, he prohibited the chairman.

Later Abdus Salam informed Shamim Osman about the matter, Basir added.

In Basir’s opinion, Shamim Osman told him over phone that Salam would enter the polling centre and do anything whatever he wanted. He cannot be barred, Shamim threatened.

Then Basir replied, “Now I am doing job under election commission. I can’t do any illegal act.”

  1. Knowing full well that Shamim Saab is a godfather, the AL GS promises to stand by his side. The PM has already expressed his blind support to Mr. Shamim. What else can the common people do? This govt has come to power even though 5% voters did not support them. So they care a fig for the common people. One wonders even then people have failed to rise in mass protest against the present autocratic regime of Sk. Hasina. There is great doubt if Bangladeshi men are still masculine or castrated.
