The International Crimes Tribunal-1 will deliver verdict on the war crimes case against Jamaat-e-Islami Nayeb-e-Ameer Delawar Hossain Sayedee any day, the tribunal said after ending closing argument again on Tuesday.
The date will be informed to the defence and prosecution before delivering the judgement, said ICT-1 Chief ATM Fazle Kabir after Prosecutor Syed Haider Ali ended placing his argument before him around 1:00pm.
Earlier on Monday, the defence counsels of war crimes accused Sayedee placed their closing arguments.
The trial proceedings against Sayedee came to an end with the prosecution and the defence completing their closing arguments today.
Sayedee is facing 19 charges for crimes against humanity committed during the 1971 Liberation War.
As the proceedings of the case concluded for the first time on December 6 last year, the ICT-1 said it was ready to deliver judgement against Sayedee.
But Sayedee on December 23 appealed for his retrial as Tribunal-1 was reconstituted after the arguments.
On January 3, the tribunal rejected retrial petitions of Sayedee but it decided to rehear both prosecution and defence summation of closing arguments in the case.
