Bangladesh all-rounder Sakib al Hasan and Pakistani paceman Wahab Riaz have been fined 30 per cent of their match fees for breaching code of conduct during the first Test between the two teams that ended in Khulna on Saturday.
The duo was found guilty for an incident happened in the 118th over of Bangladesh’s second innings when the two players unnecessarily halted play by arguing and pointing fingers at each other.
An International Cricket Council press release said on Sunday that both the players admitted their guilt and no formal hearing took place.
‘Posturing and finger pointing in each other’s face is not what we expect from two senior international players and has no place in cricket,’ ICC quoted Crowe as saying.
‘International cricketers should always remember that they are being watched and followed by millions and, therefore, need to always control their emotions and demonstrate respect.’
