She went to the Ganabhaban at around 7:30pm on Thursday with two other Presidium members of the party, Anisul Islam Mahmud and Ziauddin Ahmed Bablu.
Another Presidium member Syed Abu Hossain Babla told bdnews24.com: “The trio went to the Ganabhaban to discuss some important’ issues.”
Raushan’s party elected her the Opposition Leader for the 10th Parliament after the newly elected MPs had taken oath on Thursday morning.
The Jatiya Party had won 33 seats in Sunday’s general elections, 20 of them uncontested.
Earlier in the evening, the President had invited the Prime Minister to form the new government. Swearing-in of the Cabinet members is expected to take place on Sunday.
However, after the oath-taking of MPs, several leaders of the party said they wanted to play a dual role — as part of the Sheikh Hasina-led Cabinet and as the main opposition party.
Its Presidium member Kazi Firoz Rashid had said: “We will be in the Cabinet and in the Opposition as well. It will be a government of national consensus.”

is really new, at least for me – their wanting to play a “dual role”, being both “in the government and in the opposition”. And to call this “a government of national consensus?” – that’s really mind boggling and insane. But then who cares? This is politics, Bangladeshi style. Wonder where the “Shahbaghis” are when all these circus are going on in he country?
