He has asked law enforcing agencies to take stern measures against the toll collection on the highways ahead of Eid-ul-Fitr
Communications Minister Obaidul Qauder has said disciplinary action will be taken against the engineers concerned with the repair works of the damaged roads if they fail to do accordingly within the next two days.
The minister made the statement after inspecting the progress of the repair work at Jurain-Postgola-Pagla road in the capital on Friday afternoon, BSS reported.
“Engineers must complete the ongoing repair works of all dilapidated streets of the Roads and Highways Department by July 20; otherwise the engineer concerned will face disciplinary action,” he said.
He added: “Not only that, a failed engineer would be replaced by a dynamic one.”
Quader said the government is very sincere to remove the sufferings of the home-bound people who are set to pass their Eid with their near and dear ones.
The minister expressed his dissatisfaction over the severe traffic tailback at Jurain Rail Gate area and directed the police officials concerned to take necessary steps in this regard.
He also asked the members of law enforcement agencies to take stern measures against the toll collection on the highways ahead of the Eid-ul-Fitr.
