The government on Wednesday decided to extend the level of primary education up to class eight, said education minister Nurul Islam Nahid.
The decision was made in a meeting of National Education Policy Implementation Committee at the education ministry which was also attended by primary and mass education minister Mostafizur Rahman.
The minister said from now on the education of primary level would be up to class eight and all its activities up to this level would be operated by mass education ministry.
To implement the fresh order, education ministry would provide all kinds of co-operations, he said.
