President Abdul Hamid on Thursday visited the National Institute of Traumatology and Orthopedic Rehabilitation (NITOR- Pangu Hospital) and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) to see the injured victims of the Savar building collapse.
The President visited NITOR around 2.10 pm and enquired about the conditions of the Savar victims and assured them that the state would provide all possible assistance for their treatment and rehabilitation.
NITOR Director Khandaker Abdul Awal Rizvi apprised the President of the treatment of the Savar victims. The President asked the hospital authorities to take necessary steps for ensuring proper treatment of the injured.
Sources said 97 Savar building collapse victims are currently receiving treatment in the hospital.
Later, Hamid visited the DMCH at about 2.50 pm and enquired about the conditions of the Savar tragedy victims undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Dr Ibrahim Khalil, consultant of DMCH Casualties department, apprised the President of the treatment of the injured people. At present, 28 Savar victims are undergoing treatment in the hospital.
The President asked the hospital authorities to ensure proper treatment of the victims.
Health Minister AFM Ruhal Haque, Mostafa Jalal Mohiuddin, MP, Dhaka Medical College Principal Dr Deen Mohammad and DMCH Director Dr Mustafizur Rahman were present.
