President flies to London for medical check-up

President Zillur Rahman left Dhaka for London on Sunday for a medical check-up.

A regular flight of Biman Bangladesh Airlines carrying the president took off from Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 9:30am.

The medical check up of the president will be started at Bupa Cromwell Hospital in London from tomorrow.

Finance Minister AMA Muhith, Agriculture Minister Matia Chowdhury, Home Affairs Minister Muhiuddin Khan Alamgir, Foreign Minister Dipu Moni, State Minister for Home Affairs Advocate Shamsul Haque Tuku, cabinet secretaries, chiefs of the three services, dean of the diplomatic corps and high civil and military officials were present at the airport to see him off.

The president is expected to return home on December 24.

  1. I wonder how many times the President had to go abroad for “medical check-up” since his appointment as President and how much of the tax payer’s money has been spent on that account.Next time let us have a slightly physically fit person as the President.
