“The Prime Minister will directly invite the opposition leader Khaleda Zia for a dialogue any day” Inu told media persons after attending a workshop at a Gulshan Hotel on Friday.
He said both parties were into ‘official and unofficial’ talks at the same time.
But he did not provide details, specially what he meant by ‘unofficial talks’, though that alluded to ongoing backroom negotiations through mediators.

It was also not clear whether Hasina’s decision to invite Khaleda Zia was a result of such ‘unofficial talks’ and whether any foreign diplomats were involved in the rumoured mediation.
Inu lambasted Khaleda Zia’s statement terming the government ‘illegal’ from Friday as ‘unconstitutional.’
He demanded that Khaleda retracts her statement.
