Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today sought all-out cooperation from all, including the pro-liberation forces, in rooting out militancy, terrorism and destructive activities from the country.

“In some cases, common people came forward to catch and hand over anarchists to the law-enforcement agencies…we’ve seen that already… I also want it from all people to act like that.”

The BNP-Jamaat unleashed its destructive activities against the common and innocent people in the name of politics, she said asking, “Why are you attacking these innocent people…they are innocent! When you’re killing these people then for whom you are actually doing politics?

She came up with the call while addressing an exhibition on recent atrocities unleashed by the BNP-Jamaat alliance across the country in the name of politics and a discussion meeting at the National Museum in Dhaka after its inauguration.

Central Publicity and Publication Sub-Committee of Awami League organised the programme to display the recent destructive activities of the BNP-led 20-party alliance in the name of countrywide nonstop blockade since January 6 and hartals with weekly intervals.

AL General Secretary Syed Ashraful Islam also spoke at the programme held with Publication Sub-Committee chairman and PM’s

Adviser HT Imam in the chair. Envoys and representatives from different missions in Bangladesh were present.

A documentary, titled ‘BNP-Jamaat’s Arson Violence-Blood Stained

Bangladesh’ was screened at the programme.

Hasina broke down into tears at the programme watching the documentary and listening to the pathetic stories of a number of burnt and affected people in ferocious attacks of the BNP-Jamaat alliance.

The premier said what the BNP-Jamaat is doing now is just militant and terrorist acts, and there will be no place for militants and terrorists in Bangladesh.

She also reiterated her government’s firm commitment to save the lives and property of the common people. “The government will surely do whatever needs to be done to protect the lives and property of people.”

Diplomats from Russia, India, Palestine, Afghanistan, North Korea,

Bhutan, Libya, Sri Lanka, Vatican, China, Oman, the Maldives, Iraq, the UAE, Singapore, Pakistan, the European Union and International Red Cross were present at the programme.

  1. This women is grasping on the last strings to remain in power. These crocodile tears are not going to take her anywhere. She put herself into a hole in the ground and she will not be able to come out of it.
