Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said several conspiracies are now being hatched against her government by various quarters in different parts of the world.
The premier was speaking at a blood donation programme organised by Bangladesh Krishak League on the premises of Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city ahead of the August 15 mourning day.
“A conspiracy is going on by influential quarters, but Bangladesh is moving ahead defying all that and it will march forward,” she said.
Saying that sacrifice was essential for great achievements, Hasina, also the president of the ruling party, directed its leaders and activists to develop a sacrificing mentality for the sake of the people and the country.
“Bangabandhu had sacrificed his life and I am also ready to sacrifice for the sake of the people,” she said.
Sheikh Hasina said: “I escaped from death several times. Many attempts have been made to kill me. I have nothing left but to work for the people to meet their desires and to build the Bangabandhu’s hunger and poverty free Bangladesh.”
