Visiting Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan on Monday termed the persecution of Muslim Rohingyas the most brutal in the history and said Muslim Rohingyas were tortured, killed and persecuted in a planned manner to destroy the entire Muslim Rohingya ethnic community.
After visiting Rohingya camps in Ukhia of Cox’s Bazar, Jordan’s queen made these remarks while addressing a press conference.
She called on the world community to stand by the side of justice for Rohingyas.
“Although justice of law has been established globally, Myanmar is not accepting that,” she added.
Rania asked the world leaders to put pressure on Myanmar to end its violence against Rohingya Muslims and take back its citizens from Bangladesh.
She also hailed Bangladeshi people for showing enormous generosity and giving shelter to thousands of Rohingyas.
Earlier, Jordan’s Queen Rania visited different parts of Kutupalong Rohingya camp. She sat with Rohingya children, talked to Rohingya people and listened to their plights.
More than 600,000 Rohingya refugees have fled Myanmar to Bangladesh since violence erupted in northern Rakhine in August, a UN report said on 22 October.
The grim new landmark comes as authorities in Bangladesh were bracing for another possible surge in Rohingya arrivals, with thousands from the Muslim minority believed to be stranded along the border waiting to cross over.
