Rescue workers today recovered one more body from the Buriganga river, taking the death toll in the launch capsize to 34.
The body was recovered around 5:15pm today, said Sabbir, an operator of the Fire Service and Civil Defence headquarters.
Earlier around 12:48pm, workers rescued another body from the sunken vessel.
A novice was allegedly at the helm of Moyur-2 when it slammed into a smaller launch — Morning Bird — causing it to sink in the Buriganga yesterday. Many others are still feared missing.
Seven people were sued on charges of negligence that caused the deaths of over 30 people, alongside some other offences under section 280, 304 A, 437 and 34 of the Bangladesh Penal Code.
