No tinted glass on microbuses from May 10

CCTV cameras will be placed in important points

Microbuses can no longer use black or tinted glasses on windows from May 10, says a circular of Home Ministry.

In the awake of recent abduction spree in the country, the circular has been issued on Wednesday.

The circular stated that as microbuses having tinted or black glasses were being used for abducting people, no microbus can use black glasses on windows from May 10.

In order to stop the recent abduction incidents, the government has taken a number of security measures, said home ministry officials.

Earlier in the day, State Minister for Home Asaduzzaman Khan kamal said new security measures, including installation of CCTV cameras, was set to be implemented at important points of all big cities, including Dhaka.

Kamal said: “The big cities including Dhaka will be brought under scrutiny measures as CCTV cameras will soon placed in important points to ensure security and to trace crimes like abduction.”

He further said additional security measures have already been added as special check posts were set up at the entry and exit points of the capital and several other cities.

“Vehicles with black, mercury, tinted and unclear glasses have also been banned from operating in the capital.”
