“If the two top leaders of the major parties were men, perhaps this would not have happened,” Hasina said while distributing the Begum Rokeya Awards on Monday.
“Today is the birth anniversary of Begum Rokeya. If the Opposition had withdrawn the blockade today, it should have spared us the blame that this is essentially a fight of two women,” Hasina said.
“If the parties were led by two male leaders, nobody would have seen it as a fight between two men. But now people say this is a fight of two women because both me and the Opposition Leader are women.”
Hasina said it was not enough to raise slogans about female empowerment as we remember the legacy of Begum Rokeya.”We have to work hard to carry forward Begum Rokeya’s legacy”.
She handed over this year’s Begum Rokeya awards to Jharnadhara Chowdhury and Professor Hamida Bano at Dhaka’s Osmani Memorial Hall for their contribution to female empowerment and education.
It is a fight between two MATARIS. Two half witted human beings. One works with vengeance and sees nothing else except making her dictator father “the father of the nation”. She forgets, the entire nation rejoiced after he was killed on 15th August 1975. The senior advisors of AL should not forget BAKSAL. They are the one’s that advised Sheikh Mujib to declare Bangladesh one party state. Awami League has been carrying the trash ever since. Only the color of the trash bag changed. The younger generation do not know what happened in 1973-74. Rigged elections and formation of one party system to make Sheikh Mujib like Kim Jong of North Korea “the President for Life”. Thank God Bangladesh was relieved in 1975. We need relief again.
